Project Information
Classrooms Without Borders
Classrooms Without Borders is a project that seeks to promote education and digital inclusion in disadvantaged communities around the world. The mission of this project is to provide educational opportunities through the donation and reuse of computer equipment, the training of local teachers and the creation of educational resources adapted to the needs of each community.
In our association, under the concept of the Social and Solidarity Circular Economy, we work for a Quality Education (Objective 4 Agenda for Sustainable Development). One of the main objectives of Elkartenet is to “minimize the digital divide and, by reusing computer equipment, prolonging its life cycle, provide service to people, institutions and companies”.
Our task to achieve this objective is to collect and recondition computer equipment that has been decommissioned in different schools, institutes, companies and public bodies in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, and send it to communities in developing countries that lack the resources to access educational technology.
To achieve our goal, we have created a reuse system that not only gives computer equipment a second life, but also promotes sustainability and the circular economy, helping to reduce electronic waste. In addition, we work collaboratively with local institutions and associations to ensure the adaptation of educational resources to the needs and cultural particularities of each beneficiary community.
The ultimate goal of Classrooms Without Borders is the creation of Reuse Preparation Centers in each beneficiary region, where trained local technicians can continue reconditioning computer equipment and offering educational opportunities through technology. With the help of donors and partners, we hope to continue expanding our work to bring education and digital inclusion to more communities around the world.”

This year, with your help, we will continue working for quality education and with the concept of the Social and Solidarity Circular Economy. With the experience of the work carried out in 2022 in Errachidia, Nepal, Ghana this year we have 3 objectives:
1-Improve the equipment sent to Mellab in 2022.
2-Phase I digitization of the Baba Ahmed Ben Mohamed Yahdih High School in El Aaiun.
3-Digitalization Phase I of the Ahmed Aida School in Nouakchott.
With your collaboration, the computers that have been decommissioned in our community will have a second life and will continue to serve other students!!
